Duncan Grant Lamonby was signed from Workington in 1894 having represented Cumberland county.. He had the honour of playing at full-back for Oldham in the club’s first match in the Northern Union at Hunslet on September 14th 1895.
He made just one more appearance for the Roughyeds, on the wing two weeks later, before moving on to join Wigan later that season.
