Herbert Mills

Herbert Cecil Mills was a centre three-quarter who had played for Oldham Parish Church before having trials with Oldham in September 1913.
He then went on to play for the Oldham Rugby Union club before briefly assisting the Roughyeds during the war time period. He also featured in the successful team of the 2nd 10th Manchester Regiment.

Herbert was killed in action serving with the Manchesters at Passchendaele on October 7th 1917 aged 22.
He is buried at the Menin Road South Cemetery and remembered on the Oldham War Memorial.
